Muurtegel is created by Maarten Arts, student Communication and Multimedia Design. I’m 19 years old and I live in The Netherlands.

I started this project because I wanted to learn more about photography. I bought my first dSLR camera in Januari 2009. (It’s a Canon 400D with a 18-55mm f3.5 - 5.6 lense and an old analoge 50mm f1.4 pentax lense. At first I didn’t really do a lot with the camera equipment because of the poor weather and the lack of inspiration. By starting this project I wanted to force myself to spend more time on photography on a regular base. Good weather or poor weather, somehow I’ll have to make a nice photo every day. I’m hoping to continue this project for at least one year. I unfortunatly do have some obligations wich might make it hard for me to continue the project. That’s why I allow myself to use archive material (up to one week old) when I really don’t have another option.

I hope the results will be good and my photography skills will get better. I also hope to inspire people to do something like this too. If you are going to do / are doing something similar, feel free to contact me and show me your results. I’m very interested in them!
